NASA's SOFIA Credit: NASA / Jim Ross Stratospheric Observatory For Infrared Astronomy is commonly called as "SOFIA" , owned by National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( NASA) and German Aerospace Center (DLR) , Universities Space Research Association (USRA) . Generally SOFIA is carried by Boeing 747SP aircraft which was modified to carry a telescope. The Boeing 747SP was purchased by USRA on April 30,1997. Later on the same year it was brought by NASA. Merge of Two Black holes:  Credit: LIGO/VIRGO/NASA Researchers at LIGO - VIRGO detected merging of two black holes which was occurred in 7 billion years ago and the gravitational shockwave reaches the earth  in May, 2019.  The researchers says that one black hole with a mass 66 times that of our Sun, and the other with 85 solar masses. The two black holes came close together, rapidly spinning around one another several times per second before collision. Collison of these two black holes produced with a mass 142 times that of our Sun. The distance to the merger was calculated to be the equivalent of 150 billion trillion km. researchers said this merging black hole is an "intermediate mass black holes" which ranges from 100 - 1000 times the mass of our sun.
